Red Hill Auditorium Becomes Australia’s First Carbon Negative Music Venue

Perth's Red Hill Auditorium has taken things to the next level, leading the fight for sustainability within Australia's music venues.

Since opening 10 years ago, Red Hill have implemented initiatives such as the collection and separation of all the rubbish generated for recycling, a bus service which reduces car traffic by half, and the collection of rainwater to eliminate water waste. Red Hill is now going one step further and becoming carbon negative.

At every show this summer, the venue will contribute to the reestablishment of ecosystems in degraded farming land in the Western Australian wheatbelt, ensuring more carbon is retained through the reestablishment of these ecosystems than what will be generated as a footprint of each show.

For more information about the venue, head to the Red Hill Auditorium website here.
