Manning Bar is situated on the top floor of Manning House, within the vibrant grounds of Sydney University. It is a dynamic, multi-level hub that not only echoes its rich history but also pulsates with the diverse energy of its Members, students, and broader community. As a purpose-built and fully equipped live entertainment space, Manning Bar has been attracting premium local and international acts for many years. Increasingly, the venue is expanded to include the outdoors spaces that feature completely Open Air format with multiple bar and performance areas.
Manning Bar is an independent venue owned and operated by the University of Sydney Union (USU). As Australia’s oldest and largest student union, USU provides student services and programs at the University of Sydney. Getting There
BY BUS FROM THE CITY For stops on Parramatta Rd (closest to the Quadrangle) catch routes 412, 413, 435, 436, 437, 438, 440, 461, 480 from George St or Railway Square. For stops on City Rd (closest to Darlington campus) catch routes 422, 423, 426, 428 from Castlereagh St or Railway Square. BUS CROSS ROUTES Route 370 runs between Coogee and Leichhardt. Alight on City Rd for Sydney University. Route 352 runs between Bondi Junction and Marrickville. Alight on City Rd for Sydney University.
BY TRAIN Catch a train to Redfern station, and then take a 10 minute walk to main campus.
BY CAR From Broadway heading west along Parramatta Rd, take the first left after the big intersection and parkland on the left up University Rd. Veer left around the main Quadrangle, which is on your right, and the Library on the left. Go straight then turn right onto Manning Rd, and follow down to Manning on the left.
PARKING Whilst we strongly recommend public transport – limited street parking can be found on campus and on Parramatta Rd, City Rd and Carillion Ave. On campus parking costs $6 after 3pm.
Facilities
CAPACITY The capacity of Manning Bar Main Room is 950 people. The venue can be expanded across all areas of Manning House with multiple formats ranging from 1200 people up to 4000 people across the entire venue and gardens.
LICENSED Monday - Saturday, midday - 3am Sunday 10am - 12am
BAR AND KITCHEN Manning Bar is located on level two with beautiful rooftop balcony and multiple bar areas. The venue is home to Manning Cantina – authentic Mexican street food, which is open for most shows. Check the Manning Bar website for further information.
